About Us

Leland Family Ministries is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit faith-based organization that provides services to juvenile and adult offenders, addicts and their families. The interdenominational ministry is located at 550 E. Davidson Street, Bartow, Florida 33830. The service provides programs to residents of Central Florida regardless of age, religious preference, socioeconomic status, race, ethnicity, gender, or physical ability and assists them in finding resources and information to deal with the incarceration or drug problem of a loved one. The service is a community outreach that aims to strengthen families and empower them to overcome a loved one’s drug addiction or redirect the lives of the incarcerated while imprisoned and the successful reintegration upon release.

The goal of Leland Family Ministries is to be an effective whole provider of faith-based family services to those needing support and resources. Initially operating as a Juvenile Justice outreach program, Leland Family Ministries has expanded to open the first Florida Chapter of Mothers Against Methamphetamine (MAMA). The “Just Say No” drug campaign has not worked and drug abuse among teens has skyrocketed. The MAMA approach combines the family and faith components to address the meth problem. Successful experience has taught the ministry that faith, family, and local involvement is key to restoring meth addicts, successful prevention awareness programs and community improvement.

With the separation of Church and State, it is difficult for law enforcement and various agencies to go beyond the protocol of the system and laws of the land. This organization acts as a liaison between the two. Faith-based substance abuse treatment has shown to be far more effective than traditional programming as it aims to heal the whole person rather than just target the addiction. Leland Family Ministries leads families to the power that the Lord Jesus can give to them to face what is ahead and to overcome. Increasing or establishing the Christian faith facilitates the successful recovery from addiction and through God’s people He can help change addicts and families forever!

In response to this emerging community need, Leland Family Ministries’ MAMA chapter has also established a Teen Recovery and Support Group and Awareness Education for 10 to 17 year olds in Polk County. The youth team has raised and will continue to raise awareness of the lethal dangers of “meth” to the region’s adolescents as well as provide support and assistance to addicted methamphetamine teens and their concerned families with a youth faith-based program. This two-prong approach is aimed to reduce initiation of methamphetamine use by young people and aid those snared in its clutches to escape with help from their family and faith. The awareness goal is to prevent use and early initiation of this deadly drug by developing healthy consciousness of the dangers and harmfulness of methamphetamine use.

Please contact us if you need help or want to help your family or community. If you are unable to do anything more than pray, we gladly need your prayers! God bless you.
